Yes. You should be comfortable swimming in the ocean. No surfing experience is needed. Everyone starts in the whitewater on a soft-top.

It runs 56 to 58 degrees in October, which is about as warm as it gets here. The 4/3 wetsuit we give you handles it. Bring a swimsuit for underneath, a towel, and a warm layer for after.

Cowell is small most days, but when a big swell or a water quality notice hits, we call by 7:30am and move you to another morning. Flat days we still go out. Lying on a board in the sun is good practice.

8 and up for the group lesson, 8 to 15 for camp. Younger kids get cold fast in this water, even in a good suit.

Yes, Monday to Friday mornings. Fall camps fill with homeschooled kids and families on a school break week. They are smaller than summer, usually six to eight kids.
